Read these poems and channel your heartbreak of losing your dearest daddy to the heavens. Reflect on the beautiful childhood memories and think about how lucky you were to be the son or daughter of such a loving man.
1. DEAR DAD IN HEAVEN
Dear Dad in Heaven
I sit here and i ponder how very much
I’d like to talk to you today
There are so many things
That we didn’t get to say
I know how much you care for me
And how much I care for you,
And each time that I think of you
I know you’ll miss me too.
An angel came and called your name
And took you by the hand and said
Your place was ready in Heaven, far above . . .
And you had to leave behind,
all though you dearly loved
You had so much to live for, you had so much to do . . .
It still seemed impossible, that God was taking you.
And though your life on earth is past,
in Heaven it starts a new
You’ll live for all eternity, just as God has promised you.
And though you’ve walked through Heaven’s gate
We are never far apart
For each time that we think of you,
2. DADDY LOVES YOU
Do not cry for me when I must go, for heaven waits for me. I got here fine and oh it is grand, there is so much here to see. The Father met me at the gate while you watched me wilt and die. You could not see but all around were angels by your side.
They told me when I go they would care for you. With my body in such pain it was all that I could do. I told you before I left I didn’t want to die, but I hae never been so happy. Don’t see it as good-bye.
I have no more pain and the love here is great. I got a brand new body when I walked through the gate. So do not weep any more for God is holding my hand, and when you close you eyes to sleep and reach the promise land, I will meet you at the gate when the Father guides you through. Until I see you once again, remember “I Love You.”

3. DAD’S LOVE REMAINS
Those we love remain with us
For love itself lives on,
And cherished memories never fade
Because a loved one’s gone.
Those we love can never be
More than a thought apart,
Far as long as there is memory,
They’ll live on in the heart.
4. A TRIBUTE TO DAD
Dad your life was full of loving deeds,
Forever thoughtful of our special needs,
Today and tomorrow, my whole life through,
I will always love and cherish you.
5. HOW LUCKY TO HAVE HAD A FATHER
How lucky to have had so good a father!
On us his warm, unstinting sun long shone.
We were, of his hardworking life, the center,
Loved for the pure joy of love alone.
Uncanny are the requisites of pleasure,
Coming as they do within the will.
Knowing well where lay his greatest treasure,
Years on years of love he labored still.
6. MY DAD
We’ll always remember
that special smile,
that caring heart,
that warm embrace,
you always gave us.
You being there
for Mom and us
through good and bad times,
no matter what.
We’ll always remember
you Dad because
they’ll never be another one
to replace you in our hearts,
and the love we will always
have for you.
7. HE IS GONE
You can shed tears that he is gone,
Or you can smile because he lived,
You can close your eyes and pray
that he will come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see
all that he has left.
Your heart can be empty
because you can’t see him
Or you can be full of the love that you shared,
You can turn your back on
tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow
because of yesterday.
You can remember him and only that he is gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on,
You can cry and close your mind be empty
and turn your back,
Or you can do what he would want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
8. MEMORIES ARE GOLDEN (I ONLY WANTED YOU)
They say memories are golden
well maybe this is true.
I never wanted memories, I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you, a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved
you you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still.
Inside my heart you hold a place no one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane,
I’d walk the path to heaven and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again

9. TIME HAS TAKEN YOU
Time has taken me from you,
Although not very far.
I’ll be watching through the sunshine
And through the brightest star.
I’ll be watching all of you,
From the heavens up above.
So take good care of each other
And carry all my love.
If you’re ever wondering
If I’m there, here’s where you can start.
Take a look inside yourself
Deep within your heart.
I’ll always be your baby,
Your child (grandchild), your best friend.
So anytime you need me,
Close your eyes I’m back again.
