1. Tells the story of a visit to her sister’s grave
A Sister’s Love
© Phyllis Heller
As I visit my sisters grave, no flowers anywhere
I said no, this cannot be,
She loved her flowers endlessly.
I stood there as a dove flew by
And sat on the gravestone as I cried.
Oh yes I know you are here, you followed your husband everywhere.
and when he went to god above,
I cannot bare this painful loss
without my love
too great a cost.
I watched her change from light to dark,
no more laughter no more sparks.
ha sis I heard her say,
the cancer took her far away,
to the master up above, now
she’s there with her great love.
as I put blue flowers on their grave,
I love you both and miss you so,
the time was gone I had to go.
in my dreams I was awakened,
by a voice I knew had spoken.
Phyll I’m here, I heard her say,
thanks for the visit you made today.
I’ll always be beside you,
thanks for the flowers of blue.
and as I carried on the day, I saw a dove fly my way.
2. About my beloved friend and sister.
Sister There You Are
© Nichole Herman
When you meet a new friend
there is a feeling like it will never end
she’s not just someone, she is my sister
her face full of blotches, diseases with blisters.
I didn’t quite care what she had thought
many years of cancer she had fought
now it comes down to just death
raspberry tango the smell on her breath.
She lies in that bed as she waits for her fate
she sits on a cloud in front of the golden gate
I look at the sky and just wonder why
she has a pair of wings now and knows how to fly.
My life is still going and there is no time to pretend
she dealt with what she could and now it is the end
I see her spirit and try to keep up with her pace
I now I just wish I could see her face.
3. Cancer won another fight, and God sent his angels to carry my sister, Zsuzsa, to a better place this morning in Hungary. I live in Canada and didn’t have a chance to see her for many years. I was 17 the last time I wrote a poem. Now, my heart is in pieces….I never got to say goodbye!
I Never Got To Say Goodbye

Awake, I’m thinking of you.
Asleep, I’m dreaming of you.
I’m thinking and crying,
I’m sleeping and weeping.
The pain that I have lost you cannot be eased.
My desire to be with you cannot be pleased.
Some people say time will heal the pain.
In my heart your memories will FOREVER remain.

Death Of A Sister

Death is a horrible thing
It makes me feel like I’m going insane
Death will hurt you so bad and make
You feel really sad
Death will take your loved ones
At the blink of an eye
And make you also want to die
My one and only sister was killed
And that was not a thrill
Sometimes I feel so weak and helpless
I don’t what I’m supposed to do
I’ll put my life in god’s hands
And lay down on the sand
And ‘I’ll say take my soul, take my soul
So all the sadness can go away
But one day, I hope to see my sister Crystal again
And then all this sadness will end.
5. A woman writes a tribute to her sister who has passed. They were very close and had many good times together. She says, “I understand why God would want such a beautiful angel by his side”.
A Tribute To My Sister, Patricia
© Danielle Little
It feels like years but it has only been months,
And yet that is still too long.
I still love you the same as if you were still here with me, laughing during the good times and crying during the bad ones.
I miss being able to call you any time and spend hours talking about everything under the sun.
As children we were practically joined at the hip,
But we grew up and grew apart, as most siblings do.
We had our own set of friends and our own set of goals for our lives, but that still didn’t change the fact that we were sisters.
There was nothing that I wouldn’t do for you and nothing that you wouldn’t do for me.
I always wish you were still here with me enjoying life,
But I can understand why God would want such a beautiful angel on his side from now until eternity.
Just know that I love and miss you,
And this is the tribute to you, my big sister, Trisha.
