Grandmas are famous for their hearty meals and fresh baked cookies, their abundant hugs and kisses, and their insistent desire to spoil their grandchildren. Times spent at grandma’s house are often marked by love, laughter, and contentment. In fact, grandmas are often responsible for bringing the whole family together. Because grandmas are such a source of joy for their grandchildren, they are always sorely missed when they pass away. To lose a grandma is to lose a most valuable family member. Many grandchildren find a peace and solace after the loss of their grandma by expressing their feelings through poetry.

In my Rose Garden of memories
I see you standing there
An angel in disguise
Who taught me how to care
I long to hear your voice
for real not in my dreams
I am missing you so much these days
how empty my world seems
People say time heals all wounds
that someday the pain will subside
But Grandma I can tell you
I think they must have lied
The emptiness I am feeling now
is strong and I am weak
These days go by without you
so dreary and so bleak
In my Rose Garden of memories
I know you’ll always be
for though you’re gone
from this mortal world
In my heart you’ll always be

You picked me up,
And held me tight,
And said you loved me
A year has passed,
But I still feel the same.
I don’t think I’ve ever
Felt so much pain.
I know you’re looking over me,
Flying way up above the clouds,
But what I miss the most
Are all of the sounds.
I want to hear your voice,
Not just in a dream, but for real,
To tell me that you’re happy,
And I can tell you how I feel.
I’ll try to move on, but I know
It’s not gonna happen, but I will try.
What hurts the most
Is I never got to say goodbye…

Although I cannot see you,
I feel your presence near.
I will hold you close in memory,
Till I drop my very last tear.
So sleep now with the angels,
And your golden heart let rest.
Although our hearts are broken,
We know GOD took the best.
So dance beyond those golden gates,
And join your loving mum.
I’ll see you when I’m sleeping,
And pray for you to come.
And although this pain is painful,
And I really don’t wanna let you go.
I’ll wait for death to take me Nan,
So we can together one day glow.
Until that day I’ll close my eyes,
and see your smiling face.
I’ll lock you up inside me heart,
Until we again embrace.
So rest now my beautiful nana,
I’ll never forget how much you have done.
So until my hand meets yours again,
Sleep now in the sun.

My heart never felt so much pain
The sky came together and dropped lots of rain
I thought my life was coming to an end
All I know is I will never give in
You were the reason I became who I am
You hold my life in the palm of your hand
You showed me right from wrong
But the day you died everything went wrong
You knew me oh so well
The day you died my heart fell
I will never forget you until I die
Maybe someday we will meet up in the sky
I know the lord took you cause it was time
But he should of let me say the right goodbye
I think of you from day to day
Wondering what you would think of me today.

Nan to walk into your room and see you smile,
I walked over and hugged you all the time,
you always made me smile
and always had stories to tell.
I loved sitting with you everyday
and listen to the memories you had to share
You showed us that life cant be all that bad
there is always a light at the end of a tunnel,
You were so strong,
You had faith in us all,
You had great sprit even if the day was dull.
you weren’t just my Nan
you were my best friend
I know you had to go,
now I feel I’m alone
but I know you’re close.
when I feel the warmth at night
I know its you giving me a good night kiss,
when I feel my chest getting tight
I know that’s you giving me a big hug,
when I feel the wind brush through my hair
I know your whispering hello to me ..
when I see the sun shine
I know you’re happy,
when I see that bright star
I know that’s you watching down on us all and smiling
now a beautiful angel watching over us all,
we pray to you each night.
Loosing you Nan broke my heart
and every day without a doubt
I think of you and shed a little tear,
for a Nan I loved so dear.
