Here are some poems in loving memory of a loved one in Heaven:
1. You’ve Just Walked On Ahead Of Me
You’ve just walked on ahead of me
and I’ve got to understand..
You must release the ones you love
and let go of their hand.
I try and cope the best I can
but I’m missing you so much..
If I could only see you and
once more feel your touch.
Yes, you’ve just walked on ahead of me
don’t worry I’ll be fine..
But now and then I swear I feel
your hand slip into mine.
2. Two tired eyes are sleeping
two willing hands are still ..
For one who suffered far too much
is resting in God’s will.
You never said goodbye to us
perhaps its just as well ..
We never could have said goodbye
to one we loved so well.
3. Gone is the face
we loved so dear..
Silent the voice
we loved to hear.
Too far away for
sight or speech..
But not too far
for thought to reach.
Sweet to remember
who once was here..
And who, though absent
is, just as dear.
4. You are the soft cool winds that blow ..
You are the diamonds in the snow.
You are the sun, that melts my pain ..
You are the gentle autumns rain.
You are the graceful bird in flight ..
You are the stars that shine at night.
You were the HEARTBEAT of my LIFE.
.. and I will ALWAYS MISS YOU.
Memory builds a little pathway
that goes winding through my heart..
It’s a lovely, quiet, gentle trail
from other things apart.
I only meet when traveling there
the folks I like the best..
For this road I call remembrance
is hidden from the rest.
But I hope I’ll always find you
in my memory rendezvous..
For I keep this little secret place
to meet with folks like you.
6. We Are The Rememberers
We are the rememberers
the people left behind, to keep
the one who’s gone from us
alive in heart and mind.
The people left to cherish
and preserve their legacy
yes, we are the rememberers
and we will always be.
7. We feel so sad when those we love
Are touched by death’s dark hand ..
But it would ease our sorrow
If we could but understand.
That death is just a gateway
That all men must pass through ..
And on the other side of death
In a world that’s bright and new.
Our loved ones wait to welcome us
To that land free from all tears ..
Where joy becomes eternal
And time not counted by years.
8. When I Lost You
I wish I could see you one more time
come walking through the door ..
But I know that is impossible
I will hear your voice no more.
I know you can feel my tears
and you don’t want me to cry ..
Yet my heart is broken
because you had to die.
I pray that God will give me strength
and somehow get me through ..
As I struggle with this heartache
that came, when I lost you.
