Here are some poems in loving memory of a loved one in Heaven:
1. What I Know…
I know you soar with angels now
And that your heart has wings.
I know you’re watching over me
Whatever this world brings.
I know you are a gift from God
And that you’re safe above.
I know I will see you again
And once more feel your love.
I know you live in Heaven now
And that I must go on.
I know my heart will ache for you
Until my time is done.
2. Even though they say I’m gone,
we’ll never be apart.
I’ll be with you forever,
for you know me by heart.
At times, you’ll swear you’ve heard me
or you’ll sense that I am near.
Now and then, you’ll get a message
soul-to-soul and crystal clear.
I’m with you in so many ways,
so trust the signs I send.
For nothing is impossible
and real love never ends.
3. “The reality is that you
will grieve forever. You
will not ‘get over’ the loss
of a loved one; you will
learn to live with it. You
will heal and you will
rebuild yourself around
the loss you have suffered.
You will be whole again but
you will never be the same.
Nor should you be the same
nor would you want to.”
4. If I could write from Heaven,
this is what I’d say,
Please don’t miss me too much,
I’m with you throughout your day.
You may not see or hear me,
but if you’re quiet and still,
You may just feel my presence;
because, in Heaven, there is free will.
Don’t worry for the day,
it will come and go as planned,
Enjoy each moment you are given,
keep worry from your hand.
Keep sorrow to a minimum;
For if Heaven you could see,
You’d know I’m safe and happy,
I did not cease to be.
Moments in time are brief,
until we’ll be together again,
as Eternity lasts forever,
Our Lives, They Have No End.
5. There is a paradox in grief
One that troubles the heartiest soul
So happy to have known you
So sad that you had to go
A smile does not mean forgotten
A laugh does not show disrespect
Joy lives side by side with sorrow
In a heart that grief has wrecked
There is a paradox in grief
Sorrow does not alone existed
Joy, love and hope its companions
The whole time you are missed
6. I have always counted blessings
Every night as I drift off to sleep
But the agony of grief stopped me
Aching I would lay there and weep
Night after night the tears would flow
And my heart would break anew
Until I realized a forever blessing
Has always been knowing you
