Here are some poems in loving memory of a loved one in Heaven:
1. Your Smile
Though your smile is gone forever
And your hand we cannot touch,
Still we have so many memories
Of the one we loved so much,
Your memory is our keepsake
With which we will never part,
God has you in his keeping,
We have you in our hearts.
It is sad to walk the road alone
Instead of side by side
But to all there comes a moment,
When the ways of life divide,
You gave us years of happiness
Then came sorrows and tears
But you left us beautiful memories,
We will treasure through the years.
2. To Where You Are
We have been thousand miles apart,
Have you heard the call of my heart?;
You seem so near but yet too far,
Can you take me to where you are?
The birds are blessed to have their wings,
And they’re free to do anything;
I wish I’m free to heal the scar,
And fly like them to where you are.
My heart will always be with you,
I tell you my feelings are true;
My thoughts are with you though you’re far,
Wish they’ll take me to where you are.
God has truly heard my prayers,
And someday I’ll find the answers;
so I’ll wait and see you later,
’til my prayers will take me there.
3. We share the road of Life
with ones that we hold dear
and if it were in our power
we’d always keep them near.
For, they help us navigate
the obstacles in Life
and it makes the Journey easier
when they are walking by our side.
And, though the way is lonelier
when we no longer hear their step-
Remember, they still share our road,
they’ve just traveled on ahead.
4. We saw your body racked in pain
We watched what you went through,
Saddened by the knowledge
That there was nothing, we could do.
The pain is far to much to bear
I heard Angels, softly say
They closed your eyes, for the last time
And took your pain away.
Your pain had ceased, as ours begun
The moment you departed.
But those who love, inherit pain
And become the brokenhearted.
5. Heaven Has Become Your Home
Since Heaven has become your home
I feel I am so alone:
and though we now are far apart
you hold the biggest piece of my heart.
I never knew how much I’d grieve
when it was time for you to leave,
or just how much my heart would ache
from that one fragment you would take.
God lets this tender hole remain
reminding that we’ll meet again,
and one day all the pain will cease
when he restores the missing piece.
He’ll turn to joy my every tear
with thoughts of you I hold so dear,
and they’ll become my special way
to reasure our reunion day.
