Here are some poems in loving memory of a loved one in Heaven:
1. You Ask Me If I See You
You ask me if I see you
Since I have gone away
I try to help you understand
I watch over you each day
You wonder if I hear you
When you talk to me at night
I hear you say you love me
You will never leave my sight
You cry so many tears for me
They flow upon your face…
Please feel me as I wipe your tears
I want a smile upon your face
Remember our sweet memories
The times we shared with love
Hold on to all your hopes and dreams
I support them from above
Let go of all your guilt and pain
Let go of all your fears
God just had other plans for me
Why carry that all these years?
The day I passed is not the day
I made you love me so
Please cherish all the memories made
Before I had to go
Just take the day I passed
And put it in a box with care
Now hand the box to God please
For isn’t yours to bear
Please know I’ll always love you
As I watch you carry on
And know that I am here with you
For we are never really gone…
2. I’m Nothing Without You
I’m fading into the darkness
fading away, melting into nothingness,
getting further and further away from reality,
this whirlwind of emotions eveloped me,
as the sea fell from my eyes.
Everything seems so meaningless without you,
when you’re not here – there’s no love,
no light, in left in the dark,
so alone, broken and trying to pick up the pieces,
but somehow not everything is there.
I try to piece my broken heart back together,
it’s never quite the same, there’s something missing,
a gap in my life, my world,
a dark space, no reason, no meaning.
3. When you’re not here to share my days and nights
My life is so incomplete
For you are my heart, my soul
The ‘oneness’ I had known to seek
Without you I merely exist from day to day
With you I know that I will find
All that I have been searching for
My completeness, my eternal peace of mind
You are the keeper of my dreams
The man who holds my heart in his hands
The one I want to spend my life with
The one with whom I will always stand
Stand beside through thick and thin
Through all that life will throw our way
Knowing that this special love we share
Will guide us, each and every day.
4. Miss Me
When I come to the end of the
road and the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free!
Miss me a little, but not too long,
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once
shared, miss me but let me go.
For this journey we all must take,
and each must go alone.
It’s all part of the Master plan,
a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely
and sick of heart,
go to the friends we know
and bury your sorrows
in doing good deeds.
Miss me, but let me go.
