Here are some poems in loving memory of a loved one in Heaven:
1. Remembering Me In Our Circle Of Love
Our hands in a circle,
both perfect and profound.
The hearts of our family,
young and old in love are bound.
I have been called home
from our circle,
my life story
engraved on my hands.
Touched by your love,
since the day our story began.
We will miss each other deeply,
but know there is no end.
I will live on in your heart,
until our circle meets again.
2. The Reunion Heart
Since Heaven has become your home
I sometimes feel I’m so alone:
and though we now are far apart
you hold a big piece of my heart.
I never knew how much I’d grieve
when it was time for you to leave,
or just how much my heart would ache
from that one fragment you would take.
God lets this tender hole remain
reminding me we’ll meet again,
and one day all the pain will cease
when He restores this missing piece.
He’ll turn to joy my every tear
with thoughts of you I hold so dear,
and they’ll become my special way
to treasure our Reunion Day.
3. Losing A Friend
It was a sudden parting
Too bitter to forget
Those who loved you so dearly
Are the ones who can’t forget.
We often sit and think of you
And think of how you died.
To think you couldn’t say good bye
Before you closed your eyes.
You suffered much pain
But made sure we didn’t see it
While we were glad you were fine
You were suddenly no longer in lives.
The blow was hard, the shock severe
To part with one We loved so dear
Our loss is great, we will not complain
But trust in god to meet you again
Our family chain is broken
Nothing seems the same
But as god calls us one by one
The link shall join again.
4. I Will Always Love You
My only regret is that if I had known
that the last time I saw you,
would be the last time I saw you,
I would have hugged you a little tighter,
told you I loved you a little louder,
and stayed by your side a little longer.
My mind knows that you are gone,
but my heart will never accept it.
I miss you so much.
5. It started just like other days
It’s so hard to believe.
That it would be your last on earth
and in hours, you would leave.
Who could have known on that day
If I had, what would I have said
and could I even stand the pain
of knowing, you’d soon be dead.
The only thing that I can say
is I’m glad I didn’t know
Cause if I had, known that day
I could have never let you go.
I couldn’t stop what happened
but I would have, if I knew
Cause I didn’t want to spend a
minute of this lifetime without you.
