Here are some poems in loving memory of a Loved one in Heaven:
1. I Miss You
Everyday that passes I seem to miss you more
I miss our little chats and you knocking at the door
I miss the way you laughed the way you used to smile
I would give most anything to have you back a while
Life seems oh so empty something specials missing
I seem to spend my time sad and reminiscing
You gave me happy memories that I will always treasure
I know a day will come when we will be together
Rest in peace my angel in heaven up above
Sending you my kisses and also my love
Thank you for the memories thank you for the love
I know you are watching over me from heaven up above.
2. Grief is about more than your feelings,
it will show up in how you think.
You may disbelieve this person actually died.
You may have episodes of thinking like this
even long after they died.
Your mind may be confused,
Your thinking muddled. You may find it difficult to
concentrate on just about everything.
Or you may be able to focus your attention
but all you can focus on is the one who died,
or how they died, or your life
together before they died.
3. When I come to the end of my journey
and I travel my last weary mile,
just forget, if you can, that I ever frowned
and remember only the smile.
Forget unkind words I have spoken;
remember some good I have done.
Forget that I’ve stumbled and blundered
and sometimes fell by the way.
Remember I have fought some hard battles
and won, ere the close of the day.
Then forget to grieve for my going;
I would not have you sad for a day,
but in summer just gather some flowers
and remember the place where I lay,
and come in the shade of the evening
when the sun paints the sky in the west.
Stand for a few moments beside me
and remember only my best.
4. Oh Lord with a broken heart
I come to You tearfully crying
knowing that the last days
are shortly ahead for a loved one dying
wrap your strong arms around him
and gently give him Your spirit of peace
give him the confidence that health will be restored
in Heaven, he’ll be sitting at Your feel.
he’s loved others his entire life
and he’s been loved – family, friends, all he meets
his smile generates from deep within his soul
he is victorious, but this death he cannot defeat
So for today & tomorrow let life flow through him
raise him to Your heights in heaven above
let him feel Your strength as you live in his heart
bless him fully and may he feel all the love.
5. My heart will never heal,
My teardrops will never dry,
No matter how many days,
Or years that may pass by,
You are a part of me…
A part that I love so!
So I hold on to that part
And will never let it go.
